A dental implant replaces the root of a missing tooth and holds a fixed crown, bridge or denture. We place implants at our clinics in Aerocity, Mohali and Sector 50, Chandigarh.
An implant is a small titanium post placed in the jawbone where a tooth is missing. Over the following weeks the bone bonds to its surface, so it can carry a crown that looks and works like a natural tooth.
Implants can replace a single tooth, support a bridge for several missing teeth, or hold a full set of teeth or a denture firmly in place. Unlike a conventional bridge, an implant does not need the neighbouring teeth to be cut down.
You need healthy gums and enough jawbone, or bone that can be built up. Smoking and uncontrolled diabetes slow healing, so we discuss them at the consultation.
Mild soreness and swelling for a few days is normal and is managed with simple medication. Eat soft foods at first and avoid chewing on the area until we advise.
Clean around an implant just like a natural tooth and keep your regular check-ups. With good care, implants can last for many years.
Meet the doctor
Dr. Gagandeep Singh treats patients at both our clinics, in Aerocity, Mohali and Sector 50, Chandigarh. Every treatment starts with an examination and a clear explanation of your options, with their pros and cons, so you can decide with confidence.
Questions
Implant placement is done under local anaesthesia, so you should not feel pain during the procedure. Mild soreness for a few days afterwards is normal.
It depends on the bone and the number of implants: usually from a few weeks to a few months from placement to the final tooth. We give you a timeline at the consultation.
In some cases a temporary tooth can be fitted soon after the implant is placed. Whether this suits you depends on your bone and bite, which we check first.
The cost depends on the number of implants, the type of crown and whether bone grafting is needed. You receive a written estimate after the consultation.
