Braces & Orthodontics
Many children find that their permanent teeth do not grow into the right position. This is both preventable and treatable. Orthodontics corrects teeth and jaws that are positioned improperly. Crooked teeth, and teeth that do not fit together correctly, are harder to keep clean and more likely to be lost early to decay and gum disease. They also put extra stress on the chewing muscles, which can lead to headaches, TMJ problems and neck, shoulder and back pain.
Treatment can start as early as 7–8 years of age, depending on the problem. At this age, myo-functional appliances correct jaw growth and oral habits. Adult braces are also very common now, so people who missed out on braces earlier can still smile with confidence.
